![]() The autumn brings festivals and remote location wine tastings. So far this month we’ve been to Farm Crawl, Pumpkin Festival, Wine Down to Milo, Chili Cook-off, Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits and Live After 5. Of course, we will have our annual Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 27 starting at 7:00pm. The harvest this year had mixed blessings. The bad news was we lost a large portion of our Brianna grapes. After months of tending to the grapes, the birds devoured them overnight just as we were planning to pick them. The good news was we netted the vines at the South Vineyard in time to protect our crop of Norton grapes. We had our very first harvest there. They were planted 4 years ago. We were honored this year with a silver award at the Iowa State Fair for our dry white, Edelweiss Conger. This recognition helps to reinforce we are on the right track and to continually improve our wines as we grow. Be sure to visit us at the Tasting Room during these cool and crisp fall days. We’d love to get to know you and hear your comments.
