Marion County is located in the South-Central area of Iowa, just about an hour drive from Des Moines. Home to the largest man-made lake in Iowa, Lake Red Rock, and the Sprint Car Capitol of the World. If you like hiking, biking, boating, sprint car racing, and skydiving, this will be the place to visit this season. Take a scenic drive around Lake Red Rock across the mile-long bridge to our sister town of Pella and experience the Dutch heritage. All these adventures are within a short drive of Nearwood Winery & Vineyards. Overnight camping on the vineyard is available by reservation.
