When we began building the winery last year all we knew was that Mike needed a structure that would house his winemaking equipment with enough working space and option to expand. We also wanted that structure on the same property Mike had planted vines a few years previously. Our plans began in 2016 shortly after we realized we were a great team (we eventually married in March 2018). We had to work from scratch. The land had been a cow pasture and planted in alfalfa with no existing buildings and only a narrow dirt path transecting the acres of grass for a vehicle to venture. Knowing we’d be “behind” the majority of wineries that had been in business for years and even decades, we trudged forward despite a slew of obstacles, both man-made and from nature.
The long and short of it, we managed to get the winery built - and built a new home for ourselves there as well. We moved in over last summer, applying for new federal and state licenses and satisfying a slew of other legal requirements. We finally opened in late August, just in time for Harvest! This year (2019) is our first full season opened for business at the Hwy 14 address. There are still refinements and additional features needed, but we keep improving something every day. Business hours have been extended to 40 hours a week so we now are open at 11:00am Wed, Sat-Sun until 6:00pm; 11:00am - 8:00pm Thursday; 11:00am - 9:00pm on Friday. Monday and Tuesday we're close, but appointments can be arranged. We are available for events as well. Please come visit us!
