Harvest 2020
The harvest in August of our white grapes (Brianna) was completed thanks to our wonderful volunteers Bob, Debbie, Christen, Joanna, Sage, Mary, Dan, Kathi, and Jaxson. We even had our Harvest Hosts (overnight camping) guests offer to help. There is still some harvesting to do of our red grapes (Norton) and we have a crew assigned for that. Mike and I will also be bottling wine from previous harvests now and this year’s crop sometime in the winter.

Camp Write
We will be hosting our annual Camp Write event Thursday-Saturday September 24-26. Camp Write is a writer’s retreat for the Marion County Writer’s workshop members and a time to explore scary, eerie or offbeat stories for Halloween. Writers will present their work around the firepit outdoors in the camp area by the winery on Saturday evening. We are hoping for clear skies to view the waxing moon, but in case of inclement weather we will move inside. A big thank you goes out to members Teresa and Bob in Arizona for their donation of food for the event. If you’re interested in Camp Write or writing in general send us an email to nearwoodwinery@gmail.com

Wine Down to Milo
The 5th annual Wine Down to Milo is planned for Sunday, Sept. 20, 1:00-4:00pm. Nearwood Winery & Vineyards has participated in this event for the last few years to support the town’s fundraising efforts and we will offer free wine tastings. The event is held in the Milo City Park. Tickets have sold out for this event.

COVID policy
We are not scheduling large group events until we feel it is safer to do so and will continue to ask you wear a mask inside the winery until you are seated at your table. Occupancy will be 10 or less people. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy our outdoor patio or camping area. If you have a group of 5-10 people, please call us for reservations.
