Knoxville Nationals Aug 4-14

August is the busiest month of the year here at the winery. The Knoxville Nationals bring sprint racing fans to our town for nearly 2 weeks the first part of the month and we will be hosting around a dozen people in our house and at our camp area.

The winery will be open to the public the usual hours for light meals, snacks and beverages.

New this year! Transportation from track to winery
This year our friend, Steve, will be offering rides for fans and visitors from the winery to locations in town and other places nearby. Steve is an author and regular participant in the Marion County Writer’s Workshop. He is also a Lyft driver. He’ll be available for transportation Aug 5,6,7 and 12, 13, 14 Noon - 7pm and 10pm-12:30am.

Harvest Party Aug 21

Our Harvest Party will be Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021. Volunteers needed! Free food and beverages for all volunteers. Families welcomed. You choose how long to work, we appreciate whatever you can contribute.

Tasks
  • Picking grapes will commence around 6am and finish around late morning or whenever grapes have all been harvested.
  • Help transporting buckets of grapes to crush pad, help with crushing and de-stemming,
  • Help with food and water distribution to workers in the morning.

We start picking grapes at 6:00am. If you want to help but can’t come that early or don’t want to be in the vineyard, there are other tasks you can be involved with. Food and beverages offered to all volunteers free of charge.

Live music will be provided by Jesse Gutierrez noon-2pm

Please email us if you would like to help. We provide clipping tools and gloves, but you may want to bring your own. In case of thunderstorms, we will postpone, but will still harvest in light rain.
