May 15th is the scheduled date for many of our businesses in Iowa to have a partial opening to customers once again. We will continue curbside service and welcome guests to enjoy wine and snacks on the patio and camping area. The winery itself will be closed except for restroom use. We want to keep everyone safe and healthy and will continue to monitor expanded options. Every Saturday in May at 2:00pm we’ll have a guided “hike the vineyard” tour where you can see the grapevines up close plus burn calories walking the hilly perimeter of the property. Reconnecting with nature in the vineyard always makes me feel good. Thank you to all of you who made curbside purchases during the shutdown time. The special “gratitude” promo generated monies that will go to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Foundation and we’ll write a check this week. We welcomed our first Harvest Host members of the season, Kathy and Gary, on Mother’s Day weekend. Gary is a nurse and he and Kathy were on their way to Montana to help out with medical needs for indigenous peoples. It was their first time in Iowa. They chose Speedway Sweet as their wine to go. We wish them safe travels!
